Cold-Brew Earl Grey & Rosemary Cocktail

The Earl is in! Cold-Brewed Earl Grey Rosemary cocktail; gin and rosemary have never paired together so beautifully. This is one light herbaceous drink that is sure to make you grin over your gin.

Cold-Brew Earl Grey & Rosemary Cocktail

  • 1.5 Oz Gin

  • 1 Tbsp Honey

  • .5 Oz Lemon Juice

  • 2 Oz Brewed Earl Grey Tea

  • Sprig of Rosemary

The night before or the morning of the big soiree place four tea bags (or 4 tsp of loose leaves) in a pitcher of cold water (4 cups). We are going to cold-brew the tea! As long as you think of it ahead of time it is actually much easier and less active time consuming then hot-brewing tea. Unlike hot-brewing tea, with cold-brewing, you don’t need to monitor the temperature of the water and risk burning the tea leaves.

Tip: According to Tins Roof Teas cold-brewing tea produces fewer tannins than traditional brewing. “Tannins are a type of polyphenol, an antioxidant compound in tea leaves that imparts an astringent taste to the tea” This results in a smoother and sweeter tasting tea.

We want the leaves to brew for 8-12 hours. When the tea is done strain leaves or remove tea bags from the water.

In a cocktail shaker combine gin, lemon juice, 1 ½ Tsp honey, and tea with ice. Shake vigorously! Drizzle the inside edges of the glass with thin strands of honey and rim glass with lemon wedge. Coating the rim in this tart fruit juice will activate the brightness of the cocktail the moment it touches your lips. Serve with s sprig of rosemary.
